Dekker Mock Draft 3.0

With the draft less then two weeks away, it feels like most mock drafts have succumbed to group think. Therefore, I decided to take a different approach prior to my final predictive mock that will be out next week. I looked at each team's current needs and went best person available.

I'm not going to lie and say I know much about the trade value for draft picks, so naturally I didn't include any trades. I don't think this draft order will change prior to the draft. If there will be any more movement, it will come on draft night.

Some of you will be surprised with how the quarterbacks fell a little bit given the extra media hype. Bryce Young was and is most likely to be picked first overall. There is always one guy who is projected as the top player and it usually is just smoke and mirrors until draft day (probably due to the NFL Commisioner wanting to add more intrigue) on whether or not that time will pick him. To be honest, the Jacksonville Jaguars were an outlier last year and really did pick the non-consensus number one player in Travon Walker instead of Aiden Hutchinson.

I do not believe that trend catch fire. The other two top QBs land on teams that have presumed starters, but found that their preferred prospect was available to pick. Overall, I enjoyed this alternative perspective, so I hope that you did too!
