Dekker Mock Draft 1.0

Alright, here we go. I’ve always wanted to join in the fun of mock drafts and sharing it with the world. The draft simulator that I used can be found here at the Pro Football Focus website. I do not have enough time in the day to do much of an in-depth evaluation of a lot of these guys. However, I have been watching some highlights and game footage for a portion of these potential first round players and have enough information to somewhat predict their draft stock.

In a way, submitting a mock draft is like a trying to figure out a four digit code to your electronic door lock. It is an impossible feat To determine the exact order of picks. There are a few football analysts whose main job is to analyze the NFL Draft and project where players will end up being picked each April. A couple big names include Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, Daniel Jeremiah, and many more. Personally, I tend to compare mock drafts against those posted at PFF. I am always fascinated to see their mocks as they use their trademarked grading system to evaluate each player’s performance. As an average person, I am not privy to inside information like these analysts, so using a graded system is easier to utilize when I try to put myself in the mindset of the draft.

Anyway, this mock draft is posted prior to some of the NFL Combine tests and without any possible trades. There will absolutely be changes made to my next mock draft some of which may include a trade or two. Until then, I hope you enjoy going through my first draft.
