Seltzr Guy Six-Pack: Week 10
Here we go. Another week, another post! The playoff teams are really starting to pull away, while it is appropriate to also say that a few teams are ready to tank. The Jets and Saints traded away a lot of talent for future draft capital which makes them easy targets for betting; they might be possible under bets moving forward depending on the level of defense they are playing against.

1) ML - Money line
Denver made me sweat a little bit last week in Houston, but they pulled through as the underdogs. I feel like the Packers will have something to prove this week when the Eagles come to town. Philadelphia still is down AJ Brown per the latest reports, so I think that they have a hard time keeping up with the Packers. I’ll take the Packers Moneyline at -135. It is a little embarrassing to be beat by the Panthers when you are at home, not going to lie. Monday night in Lambeau feels like it is the perfect time to get right.
2) O/U - Over / Under
Last week’s bet for this category nearly cashed, but the Steelers really took their foot off the gas in the second half. The total ended up just four points shy. I like the NFC West matchup in Seattle this week to hit the over; Cardinals vs Seahawks over of 45.5 at -111. With Jacoby Brissett, the Cardinals have actually been very consistent in scoring! Match that with the hottest offense in the NFL right now and the recipe is there to once again go over on points.
3) Point Spread
The Falcon’s seaosn is definitely over. I really hope they do something about the coaching staff after the season because it is painfully obvious that they are not capable of getting the best out of this roster. This game on Sunday in Germany will be another disaster for the team as they are pretty injured on top of coaching deficiencies; they three offensive linemen are hurt right now which will keep Penix pressured all day. I think the Colts do end up winning by more than a touchdown. I’ll be betting the Colts spread of 6.5 at -109.
4) Receptions
This week for the receptions bet, I am going to go with Jalen Coker to get 3+ catches against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at +108 odds. He only had once catch last week against the Green Bay Packers; the Saints are one of the easiest defenses for opposing passing offenses to succeed against. For some reason the Panthers are doing well as of late and currently have a 5-4 record. Coker was touted to be the starting slot WR in the offseason before his injury. I like him to showcase that he is “back” as the youth say these days.
5) Anytime Touchdown Bet
JSN ended my streak of successful anytime TD predictions. Nonetheless, I will pivot to a less probable TD catch this week, so it offers a higher payout. I believe that Kyle Pitts will hit pay dirt this week. We saw the Colts give up a score to a tight end last week. The target share is there for Pitts to get his opportunities near the goal line. Also, we just saw Sauce Gardner traded to the Colts prior to then trade deadline. I’m not sure how much he plays, but his coverage on London plus the lack of offensive line talent leads me to belive we will see a healthy share of short targets to Bijan and Pitts. Definitely a risky bet, but I’ll wager a Pitts anytime TD in Germany at +235!
6) Passing TDs
Trevor Lawrence didn’t throw any touchdown passes at all. Instead, he ran for two on the ground. Tough luck predicting that. Travis Hunter was placed on IR and Brian Thomas left the game early with an ankle injury. Probably won’t be going back to the TLaw well anytime soon in this category. Instead, I am shifting gears to Minnesota who has a healthy JJ McCarthy back. I took him to throw TDs Week One. He looks to be back and fully healthy playing against the Ravens rough defense. I think we see a monster game from Justin Jefferson who may even catch both of other JJ’s passes in the end zone. Lock in 2+ passing TDs for McCarthy at -104 odds!
