Seltzr Guy Six-Pack: Week 2
It’s that time of the week again! Quick recap for week one: I went 4/6 on my wagers and walked away front he weekend up several units! Congrats to those of you who followed along or read my breakdown of the bets last week.

1) ML - Money line
It is rare to find the Chiefs listed as the underdog. This is the first home game of the year in Arrowhead Stadium, and I belive there shouldn’t be any doubt that Mahomes will not come out with the win. We already saw Dak Prescott look very comfortable against the Eagles secondary. I will be taking the Chiefs money line vs the Eagles at +100 odds.
2) O/U - Over / Under
I can’t help it, but I’ll be going back to the Falcons to bet on. We just saw JJ McCarthy score three touchdowns in the fourth quarter on Monday Night Football against a pretty stingy Bears defense. Enter the Falcons who still can’t generate sacks on defense. Another fun facet to this matchup is the QB rematch from the College Football Championship two seasons ago! Both of these quarterbacks thrive in Primetime games. That’s why i like the over: Falcons vs Vikings over 44.5 points at - 118.
3) Point Spread
Week two point spreads are a little hard to guage because of overreactions to our first week of professional football in six months time. Certain lines feel a little too inflated or too tight. This week I am going to roll with the LA Rams covering the spread of 5.5 points vs the Titans at -118. Sure, the Titans played it close with the Broncos, but I think that we see the pass rush for the Rams take over this game and not give Cam Ward anytime to find his reads.
4) Receptions
The Commanders covered the spread for me last week while only scoring 21 points against the Giants. Terry Mclaurin didn’t have a great game with only two catches for twenty-seven scoreless yards. Notably, he just started practicing again recently as he worked towards and received a huge contract extension prior to the season. Even on the short week for Thursday Night Football, I really like Terry Mclaurin 5+ catches at -110 odds for my Receptions Bet this week. Ohio State wide receivers might become a staple in this category before I know it!
5) Anytime Touchdown Bet
Here we go. I’m picking Jordan Mason for my Anytime TD at -119 odds in Week 2 because he looked explosive in this Vikings offense. While he didn’t score a touchdown last week, he led the team in rushing and had several big gains. Again, I am betting the over on the points total for the Sunday Night Football matchup so there will be plenty of opportunities for Mason to score. Running backs usually fare well in the red zone against Atlanta. I have high expectations for Sunday night’s game!
6) Passing TDs
I was really wanting to have Joe Burrow with 2+ passing touchdowns, but the betting markets have him at -300 which doesn’t leave room for making a profit. Instead, I am selecting CJ Stroud to throw 2+ passing touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday at +115. He had a slow start to the season as did the whole Texans offense. I think they get it back on track at home. This game should be a fun one to watch!
