Seltzr Guy Six-Pack: Week 9

At the time of my blog last week Michael Penix was still likely going to be starting on Sunday, however, on Friday he was ruled out. With that bet being void, I still had a productive Week 8! Meanwhile, the Falcons were extremely unproductive. Yikes. The murmurs are growing and more change for the team’s organization is increasingly likely. One day in the coming weeks, I’ll share my thoughts on how the team will need to change things up to reach their talented and possible potential.

I had an 80% success rate for my Six-Pack last week. The longest successful bet in my weekly posts has been the Anytime TD category which has now hit on four consecutive weeks; I expect it to continue as the player in Week 9 has a good chance of extending my streak!

1) ML - Money line

The Denver Broncos have looked really strong on offense over the last five quarters of NFL football. They are underdogs on the road against the Texans in Houston. I’ll be taking them at +110 to grab the win on the road. Their defense remains pretty healthy which is up against a young and inexperienced wide receiver group. Nico Collins is still in the concussion protocol as of this posting, so it might be a few rookies once again. It has one of the lowest totals this week which is a testament to the excellent defense on both sides of the ball. The game could be easily decided on who turns the ball over the most.

2) O/U - Over / Under

Last week the over barely reached the total in the Thursday night game. The Chargers kicked a field goal at the two minute warning in the fourth to cash the over of 44.5 points. Now, as I looked at the slate of games for this forthcoming week, I noticed that the most proficient offense in the league is playing a defense that has absolutely been torched in recent games. No one can stop Jonathan Taylor. I feel like this could be a tough game for the soaring Colts since Pittsburgh is looking to get things right at home. Either way, I belive that the total for this game will hit the over of 51.5 points at -105 odds. Lock it in!

3) Point Spread

My favorite team to bet on is back in action after enjoying a nice rest on the bye week. Seattle heads across the country to play the Commanders in the other Washington (D.C.) I like the Seahawks to cover the spread at -3.5 with +102 odds. They have been dominate on the road dating back to last season. Daniels is expected to return to action this week, so the game will have some more excitement to it than the Commanders embarrassing loss on Monday night to the Chiefs. I expect this to be a shootout as Washington cannot stop the pass no matter how hard they try. Keep reading to find out who is also reaching the end zone from this game!

4) Receptions

I narrowly am missing the receptions bets lately due to uncatachable throws. Receptions based on total targets imply that the players I’m predicting should be able to meet the threshold I bet on, but that’s how betting goes. My process has been right, but other circumstances impact the result. I’ll be changing positions from Wide Receivers for this category in Week 9; I predict Isaiah Likely to have 3+ catches tonight against the Dolphins at +113 odds.

5) Anytime Touchdown Bet

I don’t need much of an explanation for this bet. Just login to Fan Duel or go place a bet in person for Jaxon Smith-Njigba anytime TD at -106. He is a machine and having a huge breakout year. We just watched Rashee Rice go 8/93/1 against this secondary. JSN plays in that similar role of Rice in that the team moves him around to ensure he gets his opportunities to create separation including in the red zone. I’m very confident in this bet for Week 9!

6) Passing TDs

Man, last week was a nice showcase of Travis Hunter being an elite widerecevier. To be honest, I think he really should just lock in and be the best WR he can be moving forward as it is clearly where his best talents lie. With all the focus on trying to be a dual player, we have forgotten he was pretty effective on offense at Colorado. I think they feature him again against this Vegas Raiders who are looking to come out swinging after the bye week. I’m taking Trevor Lawrence for 2+passing TDs at -111 for this weeks Passing TD prop!
